Which Image Formats Can This AVIF Converter Open Online?

The uploader accepts still JPG, JPEG, PNG, WebP, and BMP files. Actual decoding is provided by the browser, while AVIF output is created by a WebAssembly encoder included with the application. A file with an accepted extension can still fail if it is damaged, mislabeled, or uses a browser-unsupported variation.

Animated images are outside the current workflow. When a browser exposes a frame from an animated WebP, the converter produces a still AVIF result. GIF, SVG, TIFF, RAW, PSD, and HEIC files are intentionally excluded rather than promising conversions the tool has not verified.

Why Convert Images to AVIF for Faster Websites?

Images are often the largest resources on a page. AVIF can reduce transferred bytes while keeping useful detail, which may improve load time when the browser, CDN, and content platform all support the format. Responsive dimensions and sensible compression matter just as much as the filename extension.
